Heineken Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, have entered a strategic partnership to advance technology and high-quality human resources. The collaboration will concentrate on three key areas: technology application development, skilled technology human resource development, and knowledge exchange.
The signing ceremony took place at the Heineken Vietnam Brewery in Vung Tau, TP HCM. This event aimed to bridge the university's academic research capabilities with the practical production and business operations of the company. It represents a commitment to implementing Resolution 57, which outlines breakthrough development in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

Dang Huynh Mai Anh, Senior Digital and Technology Director at Heineken Vietnam, stated that the cooperation seeks to leverage the strengths of each party. The shared goal is to foster technology application and human resource development, moving Heineken closer to its ambition of becoming "the best connected brewing company".
Associate Professor, Doctor Pham Tran Vu, Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, noted the university's consistent focus on linking scientific research with the practical needs of businesses. He explained that this collaboration with Heineken offers lecturers and students access to modern equipment and real-world technological challenges. It also establishes a foundation for high-quality research and technology solutions, contributing to an education model integrated with business practices.
The partnership will commence with a research project on humanoid robot applications. Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City will research programming to develop the Unitree G1 humanoid robot. This robot will perform tasks such as loading and unloading cartons, removing heavy packages from pallets, and picking can lids on the brewery's production line.
Implementing robots for demanding tasks aims to reduce manual labor and empower employees for more significant work. This initiative also contributes to fostering a smart, flexible, and safe working environment.

Collaborating with universities is an integral part of Heineken's broader technology development strategy in Vietnam. The company has already established regional technology centers in Vietnam. These include the Tiger Tribe Software Development Center, the Asia-Pacific Connected Factory Development Center, and the Asia-Pacific Data Analytics Research Center.
