VOI's strategic investment in Vinpearl was made through convertible dividend preference shares (CDPS). SeaTown Holdings, an investment company under Temasek (Singapore), also joined this significant fundraising round for Vinpearl.
This marks VOI's first investment in a tourism and hospitality business after 18 years operating in Vietnam. The move aims to diversify the fund's portfolio into sectors directly benefiting from consumer growth and tourism recovery.
A fund representative stated that Vietnam is one of the most dynamic economies in the region with significant long-term development potential. Based on this, the fund continues to expand its investment focus into new sectors and businesses with high growth potential, including Vinpearl.
“Vinpearl is a leading tourism and hospitality platform in Vietnam, well-positioned to benefit from increased domestic consumption, growing international visitor numbers, and the tourism sector's momentum,” a VOI representative said.
