Hoang Nam Tien passed away at 4:10 PM on 31/7 due to sudden cardiac arrest.
Born in 1969, Hoang Nam Tien came from a family with revolutionary traditions, being the youngest son of the late Major General Hoang Dan and former National Assembly representative Nguyen Thi An Vinh. Tien graduated from Hanoi University of Science and Technology with a degree in information technology in 1993.
He then joined FPT Corporation and remained with the leading Vietnamese technology corporation until his passing. Over the past 32 years, Hoang Nam Tien held various positions at several member companies within FPT Corporation.

From 2003 to 2008, he served as the general director of FPT Distribution Co., Ltd. He played a key role in helping FPT achieve its 1 billion USD revenue target in 2008.
In 2011, Hoang Nam Tien was appointed chairman of the board of directors of FPT Software. Under his leadership, FPT Software became one of the 500 largest software companies and ranked among the top 100 outsourcing service providers in the world.
In 3/2020, he moved to FPT Telecom, assuming the role of chairman of the board of directors. He led the network through the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. During this period, FPT Telecom's revenue increased from 11,466 billion to over 14,700 billion VND. Profit after tax also grew from over 1,600 billion to over 2,250 billion VND.
From 4/2023 until his passing, he served as the vice chairman of FPT University. FPT Corporation had high hopes that Hoang Nam Tien would help the educational institution achieve new levels of development, given his innovative ideas and contributions to career orientation and youth support.
Besides his roles as an entrepreneur, technology expert, and educator, Hoang Nam Tien was also a beloved mentor in startup activities and a speaker at numerous large-scale events.
