Designed by the UK firm Foster + Partners, the Techo International Airport represents a $1.5 billion investment. The project is expected to become a new gateway for trade and tourism in Cambodia and the region.
One of the airport's key features is its architectural aluminum ceiling, spanning over 170,000 m2. Comprised of nearly 400,000 individual ceiling panels and over 10,000 m2 of ceiling and wall cladding, the project demanded precise fabrication and installation due to its complex technical requirements.
As the construction contractor, Hunter Douglas's Vietnamese engineering team standardized over 80% of the non-standard design modules. This solution preserved the architectural vision while accelerating the project timeline and saving the investor approximately 40% of the budget. The entire project was completed in 1.5 years.

Not only did the Vietnamese team design the solution and manage its on-site implementation, but the entire aluminum ceiling system was also manufactured at the Hunter Douglas Indochina factory in the Song Than 3 Industrial Park (formerly Binh Duong). The system was then transported to Phnom Penh for installation. The entire process, from solution research and technical design to manufacturing and construction management, was carried out by Vietnamese engineers and personnel, adhering to the corporation's quality control standards.
The Techo terminal is projected to accommodate a gradually increasing number of passengers. The architectural aluminum ceiling, a striking visual element of the space, bears the mark of the Vietnamese team from design to installation.
