JD.com (also known as Jingdong), a technology and services company with a core focus on supply chain management, has announced the opening of a new warehouse in Dubai. This marks JD.com’s first property investment in the UAE, facilitated through its infrastructure investment and management platform, Jingdong Property, and operated by Jingdong Logistics.
Located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), the warehouse covers over 10,000 m2, bringing Jingdong Logistics’ total warehouse count in the UAE to 6. The facility utilizes a digitized operating model with a real-time inventory management system, optimizing efficiency and traceability. The warehouse currently stores close to 1 million products for a major electronics corporation, boasting an on-time delivery rate exceeding 99.9%. Jingdong Logistics’ JoyLogistics solution also helps clients manage seasonal fluctuations and industry-specific complexities.

The new warehouse represents another step in JD.com’s logistics expansion strategy across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, aiming to enhance inter-market connectivity and streamline operations. Jingdong Property is also expanding its regional presence with plans to build a 70,000 m2 smart logistics center in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Airports Free Zone (ADAFZ). The Joy Logistics brand currently provides comprehensive logistics services, integrating international transportation (sea, air, and express delivery) with last-mile delivery and bonded warehousing, seamlessly serving both B2B and B2C operations in the Middle East.
Feng Guo, General Director of JD.com for the Middle East, stated that this investment is a strategic milestone in the company's long-term journey in the region, expanding operational capacity to support regional scale and commerce. "We are not only investing in physical infrastructure but also driving long-term digital transformation in the logistics sector, creating momentum for cross-border trade and supply chain innovation," he said.
Charlie Peng, Director of Jingdong Logistics for the Middle East, highlighted JD.com's nearly 20 years of experience in global supply chains. The unit is known for its fast, reliable, technology-driven solutions and has successfully built intelligent logistics ecosystems across various sectors, from e-commerce and consumer electronics to FMCG, fashion, and automotive.
"Dubai’s strategic location – at the crossroads of Asia, Africa, and Europe – combined with JAFZA’s duty-free advantages, makes our warehouse system an ideal choice for multinational corporations seeking to expand or optimize their presence in the Middle East and beyond," he affirmed.
