The company's long-term goal is to eliminate stairs as a barrier in Vietnamese family homes.
Jushun Trading also invests in technical capabilities, from training installation teams to building a spare parts system, ensuring stable operation. A company representative noted that in the initial phase, service and practical implementation capabilities are crucial for competitiveness, rather than solely focusing on price. Long-term projections indicate significant growth potential for mobility assistance solutions, driven by increasing demand for in-home care.
According to the Ministry of Health, Vietnam has one of Asia's fastest aging populations, with the transition from an aging to an aged society occurring within 17-20 years. This demographic shift increases the demand for in-home elderly care, particularly in urban areas. Mobility assistance solutions like stair lifts are therefore a suitable option.
Doctor, Architect, Senior Researcher Nguyen Tat Thang from the National Institute of Architecture (Ministry of Construction), observed a substantial demand for in-home mobility solutions in Vietnam. He explained that many families lack sufficient space for elevators, and some elderly individuals, despite their financial means, move from private homes to apartments for convenience. Therefore, solutions enabling them to remain in their familiar living spaces are essential.
In developed markets like Taiwan (China), Japan, and Europe, stair lifts are common household fixtures. However, they remain uncommon in Vietnam. Industry businesses report that the primary challenge is not technological, but rather shifting consumer habits and perceptions. Unlike typical home appliances, stair lifts are high-value products requiring custom installation and long-term maintenance.
