The agreement outlines the joint development of three floating solar projects at the KN Srepok 3, KN Ialy Gia Lai, and KN Ialy Kon Tum hydropower reservoirs. These projects will utilize direct power purchase agreements (DPPA) to primarily supply clean energy to large consumers. The initiative aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote renewable energy use, and contribute to Vietnam's green energy transition goals.
A representative from KN Holdings stated that Samsung C&T, a subsidiary of Samsung Group, has extensive experience in developing large-scale renewable energy projects globally. The two companies will collaborate on KN Holdings' floating solar projects, implementing advanced technology to optimize investment and operational efficiency while generating clean energy.
The MOU exchange at the Vietnam-South Korea Economic Forum, a high-level event co-chaired by leaders of both countries, marks a significant step in KN Holdings' clean energy development strategy.
"This event demonstrates the new direction of energy cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea, aligning with both nations' commitments to emissions reduction and green economic development," the representative added.
