LG recently launched the "Nurturing Green Shoots, Sowing Sweet Honey" project in Nhu Xuan District, Thanh Hoa Province. The project aims to restore forests and improve the livelihoods of local communities. It is implemented by the Ban Tho Cooperative as part of the LG Ambassador Program 2025.
Located in the southwest of Thanh Hoa Province, Nhu Xuan is a mountainous district, home to ethnic minorities such as the Thai, Tho, and Muong. The local population, especially these communities, relies heavily on forests for their livelihoods. However, over-exploitation has led to ecological imbalance, land degradation, and increased risk of natural disasters.

As part of this initiative, LG donated and planted 600 ironwood trees, a precious hardwood species, in a degraded area within Ben En National Park. Ironwood trees play a crucial role in protecting biodiversity, regulating the climate, and reducing soil erosion. They are also a protected species in Vietnam. Besides contributing to creating a carbon sink to address climate change, the activity helps mitigate natural disasters, protect water security, and safeguard biodiversity, especially the rare ironwood.
In addition to reforestation, the company donated 100 beehives to local residents, combined with technical training sessions organized by the Ban Tho Cooperative. The model of placing beehives under the forest canopy aims to utilize local biodiversity for circular economic development, while contributing to forest protection and supporting natural pollination.

Song Ikhwan, General Director of Sales and Marketing at LG Electronics Vietnam, stated that this is one of three community initiatives selected for implementation in Vietnam in 2025, alongside projects to upgrade playgrounds and school libraries in Bac Giang and Lang Son. "These saplings will not only help revive the ecosystem but also support livelihoods and create a foundation for sustainable development in the local area," he said.

The LG Ambassador Program is implemented in collaboration with the Korea Social Welfare Fund and Korea Food for the Hungry International in many countries. In 2025, the program launched in Vietnam for the first time, focusing on three main objectives: poverty eradication, education, and climate action, aligned with the United Nations' sustainable development goals.
Mr. Song Ikhwan said that on its journey to become a provider of smart life solutions, LG is actively implementing initiatives aimed at sustainable development. The company's vision is to bring a better life to everyone, every day. "This year, LG launched the LG Ambassador Challenge 2025 in Vietnam for the first time. This is also a meaningful activity to celebrate 30 years of the brand's presence in the Vietnamese market," he affirmed.
