Long Chau achieves EcoVadis badge for sustainable development

Long Chau pharmacy and vaccination center system awarded committed badge by EcoVadis, a global sustainable business rating organization.

The EcoVadis organizers noted that Long Chau meets four pillars of sustainable development: environment, labor and human rights, business ethics, and sustainable procurement.

Specifically, the enterprise received high marks for minimizing environmental impact, maintaining transparency in business operations, progressively applying sustainable principles in supply chain management, and emphasizing the human element across its entire value chain. The badge also recognizes that the Long Chau team is moving in the right direction, approaching international standards for ESG (environmental, social, and governance) implementation.

A company representative stated that the Committed Badge is not a destination but a starting point. The badge serves as a reminder that the company must continue to improve its systems, enhance operational standards, better manage ESG risks, and spread a deeper sustainable development mindset throughout its entire value chain—from internal operations to partners, both today and in the future.

"Moving forward, we are committed to continuous improvement, prioritizing people, viewing social responsibility as a foundation, and pursuing long-term sustainable development. We believe every small but persistent step today will contribute to creating positive, lasting value for the community, the healthcare sector, and society," the representative said.

At each pharmacy and vaccination center, Long Chau aims to create a clean environment and adhere to safety rules: from operations and drug storage to medical waste disposal. The system also promotes streamlining and digitizing all processes, reducing waste, and saving energy.

Over the years, the enterprise has partnered with pharmaceutical companies to properly process and recycle over 478,000 used plastic insulin pen casings and asthma/COPD inhaler devices. Through a series of projects, the leadership expects to create a sustainable, strategic cooperation model for medical waste management and environmental protection in Vietnam.

In addition to green development, the enterprise is committed to its mission of "improving community health," fostering transparency in the pharmaceutical industry, and placing people at the center of all operations. The company provides pharmaceuticals and vaccines, guaranteeing genuine products and transparent origins, while working to raise public awareness about proactive healthcare.

Based on technology and a widespread network, the system brings new healthcare services closer to tens of millions of Vietnamese people, contributing to equal access to healthcare regardless of location. "Continuously innovating, we hope to contribute positively to the national goal: building a modern, equitable, and effective healthcare system," the representative noted.

On the path to realizing this common goal, digital transformation, big data, and AI are key to Long Chau optimizing operations and understanding customer needs—from disease prevention and treatment to long-term care. Technology is also an important foundation for the system to strongly develop smart, personalized medical services while expanding its coverage to all regions.

To bridge the gap in healthcare in disadvantaged areas, the "Long Chau Se Chia" (Long Chau Shares) program has partnered with local authorities, hospitals, and medical facilities to implement a series of free screening, examination, and medicine distribution programs for residents.

Concurrently, the company organizes community activities such as: providing tons of medicine and medical supplies to people in the Central region after natural disasters; launching free vaccination campaigns; and collaborating with the Ministry of Health and other units to raise community awareness about stroke prevention and management. These strategic steps affirm the enterprise's consistent, long-term commitment to protecting and improving community health, aligning with the spirit of Politburo Resolution 72-NQ/TW and Government Resolution 282/NQ-CP.

Alongside standardizing operations, the leadership identifies human resource development as an internal strength, aiming for "a healthy Vietnam." Accordingly, the company focuses on building a positive work environment, enabling individuals to develop their capabilities and innovate through a series of professional training programs, internal forums, and competitions to identify and nurture successor teams.

Last year, the system enhanced specialized training for pharmacists, doctors, and nurses, focusing on updating scientific knowledge, improving consultation skills, standardizing vaccination safety, and emergency response techniques. The program was supported by many hospitals, training institutions, and domestic and international pharmaceutical partners.

The company also promotes a spirit of internal sharing and responsibility, exemplified by timely support for employees and their families facing difficulties, contributing to building a strong professional medical team that works transparently and focuses on people—an important foundation for Long Chau's sustainable development commitment.

EcoVadis is a reputable ESG rating organization that currently assesses over 130,000 companies from 180 countries. EcoVadis provides various sustainable solutions to manage, measure, and improve criteria across the entire value chain.

Currently, Long Chau has over 2,400 pharmacies, 200 vaccination centers nationwide, and 20,000 doctors, pharmacists, and medical specialists. In October, the APEA 2025 organizers named the company "Outstanding Asian Enterprise"; it also achieved "Top 10 Impressive Growth Brands" at the 22nd "Strong Vietnam Brands" awards ceremony. At the Better Choice Awards 2025 on 3/10, Long Chau's electronic health record won "Breakthrough Solution in Digital Healthcare and Health Care."
