The signing ceremony took place on 15/7, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of US-Vietnam diplomatic relations. Representatives from the US Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City and leaders from both companies attended the event.
Long Chau representatives revealed that in Vietnam, nearly 6 out of 10 pregnancies are unintended, with 3 out of 4 abortions resulting from these unplanned pregnancies. Unintended pregnancies and the high abortion rate affect both physical and mental health, leading to lasting psychological trauma and diminishing the quality of life and well-being of women.
In response to this situation, Long Chau and Organon, a subsidiary of a US-based pharmaceutical company, have decided to elevate their strategic partnership. Their goal is to contribute to building a comprehensive reproductive healthcare ecosystem, bringing about practical and sustainable changes for the community.

Through this program, both parties aim to provide proactive healthcare knowledge and enhance counseling skills for pharmacists, while also supporting women in accessing appropriate contraceptive solutions.
The two companies announced the pillars of their strategic collaboration. It begins with an in-depth training program and workshops to enhance the professional capacity of over 18,000 Long Chau pharmacists nationwide. In addition to gaining new knowledge about reproductive health, the healthcare team will also be equipped with counseling skills and support tools to become reliable partners for women. Furthermore, 2,222 pharmacies will distribute quality, affordable contraceptive products.
The partnership will also launch extensive community awareness campaigns through social media and mainstream channels. These campaigns will raise awareness about modern contraception and women's right to choose in healthcare—an essential right that still faces many barriers.
Long Chau and Organon plan to donate 1,000 medicine cabinets to health stations in remote areas. This initiative aims to bridge the healthcare gap and extend practical care to each locality and every woman, whether in urban or rural areas.

Vo Thi Thuy Ha, General Director of Organon Vietnam, stated that the memorandum of understanding reflects the company's belief that empowering women through equitable and scientific healthcare services is not just a health goal, but a societal responsibility. The company will continue to collaborate with partners, medical experts, and the pharmacy community to build a comprehensive, scientific, and gender-sensitive reproductive healthcare ecosystem.
Sharing this view, Nguyen Do Quyen, Deputy General Director of FPT Retail and CEO of Long Chau pharmacy and vaccination system, confirmed that the company plays a vital role, working alongside Organon to realize these groundbreaking strategies. Currently, the company has 2,222 pharmacies and over 18,000 pharmacists, serving 28 million people—equivalent to one-third of Vietnam's population.
Ms. Do Quyen explained that caring for women's health is not only the foundation for a healthy community but also a clear reflection of a just and progressive society. "Women deserve access to quality healthcare services, regardless of whether they live in urban areas or remote regions. This is a fundamental right, essential for them to take control of their health, future, and lives, thereby nurturing happy families and contributing to the sustainable development of the community and the country," she added.
