Lufthansa Cargo and Swiss WorldCargo launch new strategy

Lufthansa Cargo and Swiss WorldCargo, the two air freight divisions of Lufthansa Group, have announced a new strategic partnership to leverage commercial and operational synergies.

The two companies, while maintaining their distinct brands and strengths, will enhance collaboration. This partnership aims to address the continuous changes in the air freight industry and global trade.

In the coming months, Lufthansa Cargo and Swiss WorldCargo plan to establish a "single customer contact point and a unified market approach." They will also harmonize various services, transport flows, and operational processes. Furthermore, both will utilize a common information technology platform.

Alain Chisari, head of Swiss WorldCargo, stated, "By combining our capabilities, expertise, and market presence, we will create new industry-leading synergies and greater value for customers. Together, we are shaping the future of specialized and premium air freight services across our combined network."

The collaboration between Lufthansa Cargo and Swiss WorldCargo will enhance the transport capacity of both parties. *Ajot*.

Swiss WorldCargo, with its network of over 130 destinations, is known for transporting high-value goods requiring special care and strict delivery times. Lufthansa Cargo, on the other hand, provides both belly-hold and dedicated freighter transport services, moving an average of 2,500 tons of cargo daily.

Ashwin Bhat, chief executive officer of Lufthansa Cargo, emphasized, "Lufthansa Cargo and Swiss WorldCargo are respected brands in the air freight industry, recognized for their high quality and reliable transport solutions. Through deeper collaboration, customers will gain access to one of the most extensive networks, a diverse product portfolio, top-tier quality, and extensive experience."

Beyond passenger transport, the group operates two main cargo divisions: Lufthansa Cargo of Germany and Swiss WorldCargo of Switzerland.
