NCB's recipe for being a top workplace in Asia

A groundbreaking human resources strategy and leadership that listens are key ingredients in NCB's "Best Companies to Work for in Asia" award for three consecutive years.

National Citizen Commercial Joint Stock Bank (NCB) has undergone significant transformation in recent years. From its beginnings as a small bank, NCB has experienced impressive growth, tripling its capital in four years, strengthening its financial capacity, and achieving positive business results despite challenges.

The bank has also made a mark with its experienced leadership and senior personnel, attracting high-quality staff, international experts, and young talent. Last August, NCB received two awards: "Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2025" and "Tech Empowerment Awards 2025" at the HR Asia Awards 2025. This is the third consecutive year NCB has been recognized in the category of leading HR awards in Asia.

Employee benefits and development opportunities drive NCB's success.

According to General Director Ta Kieu Hung, NCB considers its people to be its core, its most valuable asset, and the driving force behind the bank's development. Therefore, NCB always strives to provide its staff with the best possible work environment. The years 2024-2025 marked significant changes in NCB's HR policies, going against the trend of market fluctuations.

NCB upgraded its policies with a competitive salary range among the top in the market and many attractive benefits: preferential loan programs, travel vouchers, entertainment vouchers, regular health checkups, health insurance, as well as sports programs and cultural activities to create a favorable working environment for high-quality personnel.

With a workforce spanning three generations, the majority of whom are Gen Y and Gen Z, NCB focuses on developing its talent pool and training the next generation of leaders, with the goal of 50% of business unit management positions being filled internally within the next two years. An "empowerment" culture combined with training programs in both professional skills and digital transformation capabilities helps NCB create a multi-generational environment rich in development and advancement opportunities.

"Internal training not only helps employees understand the bank's development orientation, thereby building action plans and appropriate personal development goals, but also supplements their ability to adapt flexibly to market fluctuations," said Mr. Ta Kieu Hung.

A key differentiator for NCB is its leadership team, which is always open, ready to listen, and responsive to employee feedback. The bank organizes regular conferences and forums to help employees understand the development direction, vision, mission, and core values of the organization.

Ms. Hoang Anh, who has been with NCB for six years, shared that the thoughtful and visionary leadership here has given her confidence in her chosen career path, making her willing to take on difficult tasks and confidently contribute to the overall development of the organization.

According to a representative of NCB, all of the bank's activities closely adhere to five core values: loyalty, trust, dedication, sophistication, and growth. These values form the identity of NCB's corporate culture and unite employees into a cohesive whole. This helps shape the distinct DNA of NCB's personnel and fosters pride among employees.

Being honored at the HR Asia Awards for three consecutive years (2023-2025), along with the technology award, is a testament to NCB's humane HR policies and unique corporate culture.

Recently, NCB also became the first bank to launch the "Tu Hao" (Pride) credit card line associated with significant national events. The "Thong Nhat" (Unification) version launched on the occasion of the anniversary of the country's reunification (30/4-1/5) and the "Tu Hao" version commemorating National Day, creating a symbol of national pride in the banking sector.
