NCB Visa Tu Hao wins 'Credit card initiative of the year' award

NCB receives 'Credit card initiative of the year' award for its Visa Tu Hao card at the Asian Banking & Finance retail banking awards 2026, held on 2/7 in Singapore.

The NCB Visa Tu Hao card series launched two versions, each reflecting historical and cultural identity. The "Thong Nhat" version was released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of national reunification, marking a sacred milestone for the nation. The "Tu Hao" version was issued to celebrate the 80th National Day anniversary, symbolizing patriotism and national pride in a new era. The bank designed these products not merely as financial tools but also embedded spiritual values, enabling customers to "tell Vietnam's story" with every transaction at millions of payment points worldwide.

Regarding technical features, NCB integrates modern payment technologies, including: contactless payment, online transactions, virtual cards, and multi-layered security via OTP codes and 3D-Secure. The bank applies a foreign currency conversion fee of 1,5%, among the lowest in the market. Beyond benefits such as a travel gift set and annual fee waivers, cardholders also receive 100% cashback on tickets to national museums and scenic spots, and up to 10% cashback for other eligible expenses.

A distinguishing feature that helped NCB Visa Tu Hao win the innovation award is its humanitarian value linked to community activities. Specifically, for every one million VND of eligible spending, the bank contributes 3,000 VND to the customer's "Charity Wallet" on the NCB iziMobile application. Through this platform, customers can directly support reputable organizations such as: the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee or the Vietnam Red Cross Society. This mechanism transforms each daily transaction into a tangible social contribution.

Ta Kieu Hung, General Director of NCB, stated the bank's aspiration is to accompany and serve the nation through creative financial solutions built on technology. According to him, this international award motivates the unit to continue its journey of showcasing Vietnamese intellect and identity to the world.

This marks the second major award for this card series, following its inclusion in the "Top 10 Innovative Products - Services" at the Tin Dung Viet Nam 2025 program.

NCB is continuously implementing high-standard financial solutions. Recently, the bank partnered with Sun Group to launch the co-branded NCB Visa Sun Signature card, linking financial solutions with a premium resort, tourism, and entertainment ecosystem.

The Asian Banking & Finance Retail Banking Awards is a prestigious annual awards program organized by The Asian Banking & Finance magazine. It honors financial institutions with outstanding initiatives and solutions. An independent panel of experts from leading global consulting and auditing firms, including: Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, PwC, and Boston Consulting Group, directly evaluates candidates. NCB's ability to meet stringent criteria and win an award in its first participation demonstrates its innovative capabilities and forward-thinking approach in shaping retail banking trends.
