Nearly 5,700 billion VND in National Day gifts distributed to Vietnamese citizens

The State Treasury reports that over half of the allocated funds, approximately 5,700 billion VND, have been disbursed to the public for National Day.

As of the afternoon of 31/8, the State Treasury has disbursed over 5,687 billion VND in gifts to citizens for National Day (2/9). This represents approximately 53.2% of the total allocated budget of over 10,700 billion VND.

Cash payments account for 98.83% of the disbursed amount, equivalent to 5,617 billion VND. The remaining 0.17% has been distributed through transfers to integrated social security accounts on the VNeID app.

Hanoi, Nghe An, and Thanh Hoa are the three localities with the highest disbursement rates. Hanoi has disbursed 576 billion VND (68%), Nghe An 425 billion VND (111%), and Thanh Hoa 433 billion VND (101%). Some localities, such as Cao Bang, An Giang, Vinh Long, and Quang Ngai, have disbursement rates below 30%.

Many households have received their gifts directly from local authorities.

Each citizen is receiving 100,000 VND to commemorate the 80th anniversary of National Day (2/9). The total estimated budget exceeds 10,700 billion VND. The distribution of National Day gifts began on 30/8 and is scheduled to be completed before 2/9. In cases of unavoidable circumstances, citizens can receive their gifts after this deadline, but no later than 15/9.

Citizens can receive the funds through their integrated social security accounts on the VNeID app or in person at designated disbursement locations. The disbursement is based on registered households. The total amount for each household is calculated based on the number of registered individuals according to national data. The head of the household or an authorized representative receives the gift on behalf of the household and distributes it to other members. For citizens without a registered household, gifts are given directly to each individual or their authorized representative.

This is a social security payment disbursed by the State Treasury through commercial banks. As of the afternoon of 31/8, 30 banks and digital wallets have linked with the VNeID app to facilitate these and other social security payments. These include: Agribank, VietinBank, BIDV, Vietcombank, LPBank, Vikki Bank, MB, PVcomBank, HDBank, ShinhanBank, Co-opBank, TPBank, NCB, NamABank, Kienlongbank, BVBank, ACB, MSB, Sacombank, BaoViet Bank, Techcombank, ABBank, VIB, VPBank, SaigonBank, VietABank, and MBV. The linked digital wallets include Viettel Money, MobiFone Money, and VNPT Money.

The State Treasury previously announced that it would operate throughout the National Day holiday (1-2/9) to ensure timely disbursement of gifts. TP HCM and Hanoi received the largest allocations for National Day gifts, exceeding 989 billion VND and 848 billion VND respectively. Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Dong Thap, Can Tho, and An Giang each received over 400 billion VND.
