On 15/8, Petrolimex Aviation (PA) signed an agreement to supply 1.2 million liters of the first sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) blended by Vietnam National Petroleum Group and PA for Vietjet's domestic flights. The company is also collaborating with Associated Energy Group, LLC (AEG Fuels) to support the commercialization of SAF in Vietnam for international airlines in the future.
According to Petrolimex Aviation, this milestone opens up the possibility of domestic SAF production, blending, and distribution, reducing reliance on imports and pushing the Vietnamese aviation industry closer to its net-zero emissions target.

Nguyen Van Hoc, General Director of Petrolimex Aviation, stated that during the implementation process, Petrolimex Aviation received support from state management agencies: the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, the Domestic Market Management and Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Customs Department. This support facilitated licensing, standardization, policy completion, and smooth implementation of SAF.
Discussing the collaboration between Petrolimex Aviation (PA), Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (VJC), and AEG Fuels, Hoc revealed a long-standing partnership between VJC and PA. They have supported each other from formation and development through the challenges of the pandemic, not only in business but also in the shared goal of sustainable development for the Vietnamese aviation industry.
AEG Fuels has also been a long-term commercial partner in Vietnam and internationally since 2011. "With their experience in SAF deployment and a global airline customer network, PA believes AEG Fuels will help connect the Vietnamese market with the global trend of SAF usage, opening up extensive cooperation opportunities in the future," the Petrolimex Aviation leader said.

Petrolimex Aviation believes each flight carries not only passengers and cargo but also the responsibility of protecting the sky for future generations. The company aims to eliminate net CO2 emissions by 2050 along with the Vietnamese aviation industry by increasing the proportion of SAF in supply and commercializing it on both domestic and international routes, developing a domestic SAF supply chain, and collaborating globally to update technology, reduce costs, and expand applications.
Beyond emission reduction, Petrolimex Aviation aims to establish Vietnam as a regional hub for sustainable aviation fuel, demonstrating a strong commitment to a greener planet.
