PNJ promotes green transportation within the company

PNJ signed a memorandum of understanding with VinFast, GSM, and V-Green to implement sustainable transportation solutions, contributing to the national green transportation initiative, on 25/9.

The signing ceremony took place at the "Green Transportation Transformation - Breakthrough Investment Opportunities" seminar, part of the HCMC Business Summit 2025 organized by the Young Business Association of Ho Chi Minh City (YBA HCM) and the Ho Chi Minh City Women Entrepreneurs Association (HAWEE).

As Vietnam aims for Net Zero by 2050, PNJ is partnering with strategic allies to implement green solutions, stemming from a sense of national responsibility and a vision of sustainable development.

According to the MOU, PNJ will collaborate with VinFast to encourage employees to switch to electric vehicles through introductory programs, VinFast test drives, and preferential policies for purchasing electric cars and motorbikes.

With GSM, the two companies will cooperate on green transportation and logistics services. PNJ will prioritize using GSM electric taxis for internal travel and business logistics, co-sponsor Green SM travel codes for employees and customers, and contribute to forming environmentally friendly travel habits. The two parties will also collaborate on media outreach to spread the message of green living to the community.

Simultaneously, PNJ and V-Green will develop a plan for electric charging station infrastructure at PNJ's stores, offices, and factories. The installation of charging stations will comply with regulations and obtain necessary permits, facilitating convenient charging for employees and customers.

At the event, a PNJ representative stated that the partnership with VinFast, GSM, and V-Green is not only a strategic step in green transportation but also a concrete manifestation of PNJ's ESG declaration: Acting responsibly to honor the beauty of people and life sustainably. For PNJ, responsibility is not just compliance but a commitment to action and continuous efforts to find practical solutions to reduce emissions and build sustainable value.

"We believe that connecting green partners will create synergistic value, contributing to promoting green transformation within the business community and society as a whole," the representative added.

This collaboration aligns with 12 key themes in PNJ's ESG strategy and the "Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Commitment" approved by the Board of Directors. The company is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emission intensity by 15.8% by 2030 compared to 2023; gradually inventorying greenhouse gas emissions and developing emission reduction solutions for scope 3; and achieving Net Zero for all operations (scopes 1 and 2) by 2050.

Representing three businesses within Vingroup's green ecosystem signing the partnership with PNJ, Nguyen Thanh Duong, General Director of V-Green Global Charging Station Development Joint Stock Company, stated that with the collaboration of responsible Vietnamese businesses and the unity and support of the community, the four entities will create a green and civilized transportation ecosystem, contributing to emission reduction and a healthier living environment for everyone.

These commitments and actions continue PNJ's 37-year pursuit of the sustainable development philosophy of "placing customer and social benefits within business benefits." The company aims to balance financial performance, customer satisfaction, employee development, and community responsibility to create long-term value for all stakeholders.

Previously, PNJ was honored with several prestigious awards, including being listed in the CSA 2025 rankings for the third consecutive time in the Waste Reduction Pioneer (E) and Outstanding CSR Activities (S) categories. PNJ was also the only Vietnamese representative to win the "Sustainability Leadership" award at the Jewelry World Awards (JWA) 2025 in Hong Kong, China.

The HCMC Business Summit 2025 is an event that brings together entrepreneurs, investors, and leaders from the southern region. As co-organizers, YBA HCM and HAWEE aim to build the event into a sustainable platform connecting dynamic, innovative, and responsible future generations of entrepreneurs, promoting economic cooperation, and fostering multi-faceted connections between domestic and international business leaders.

With the theme "Convergence for Reach," the program takes place from 24/9 to 27/9. The "Green Transportation Transformation - Breakthrough Investment Opportunities" seminar brought together hundreds of representatives from young businesses, investors, banks, experts from PNJ, VinFast, V-Green, GSM, and financial institutions.
