SATRA invests billions of dong in social responsibility in 2025

SATRA participates in a walk for Agent Orange victims, gives gifts to families of policy beneficiaries, and supports employees in difficult circumstances.

These activities have been carried out by SATRA (Saigon Trading Corporation - One Member Limited Liability Company) for many years to demonstrate its community responsibility. The company believes that business development is inseparable from social responsibility. Every activity and decision is guided by a spirit of sharing. For over half a century, this spirit has shaped the company's identity, helping it grow in scale and earn the trust of the community.

On 10/8, many leaders and over 300 officials, staff, and employees of the unit participated in the "For Agent Orange/dioxin victims" walk to commemorate the 64th anniversary of Agent Orange Disaster Day in Vietnam (10/8/1961-10/8/2025). To share the difficulties with dioxin victims, the company also donated 100 million dong to the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin at the event.

Also in August, to promote the tradition of "Paying tribute to those with meritorious services to the revolution" and demonstrate community responsibility, the company gave gifts to families of policy beneficiaries, households in difficult circumstances, and people with meritorious services in the wards of Binh Tien, Dien Hong, Binh Hung, and Khanh Hoi, as well as to the Rehabilitation and Occupational Disease Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. The total value of the gifts was 145 million dong.

In community activities, the unit also prioritizes taking care of its employees. The company considers this an internal responsibility and a way to build a solid foundation for social responsibility, thereby spreading positive values to the community. The company has implemented many programs to ensure both the material and spiritual well-being of its employees.

The "Healthy for good work" Sports Festival, held at the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Culture Palace from 1 to 9/8, was a large-scale sporting event for the corporation and an occasion for staff and employees to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day (2/9), and SATRA's 30th anniversary. The festival attracted more than 1,500 athletes and supporters, contributing to improving the physical and mental health of the corporation's members. Lam Quoc Thanh, General Director of SATRA, shared: "The sports festival not only creates opportunities for physical training but also inspires the spirit of unity, nobility, and the will to rise. These values have created our internal strength, allowing us to develop sustainably."

To ensure "no employee is left behind," in the first six months of the year, the company visited and provided over 2.7 billion dong to more than 5,500 union members and employees in difficult circumstances. More than 12,500 employees of the corporation benefited from "Welfare for union members" packages worth nearly 1 billion dong. In addition, the company also supported the construction and repair of houses in the "Trade Union Shelter" program to help workers settle down and stabilize their lives. The cost for each project is 30 million dong.

A company representative said that in the modern business environment, corporate social responsibility (CSR) is often seen as a clever marketing strategy. However, at SATRA, social responsibility is defined more profoundly as a mission carried out with sincerity and responsibility. CSR is not a "choice" or a brand promotion activity, but a core mission that has been deeply ingrained in the company's business operations since its inception.

In the company's cultural tradition, "caring for and helping those in difficult circumstances and organizing 'SATRA for the community' activities" is a guiding principle alongside business development goals. "By placing people and the community at the center of all activities, we not only build a strong brand but also create sustainable values for society. Our development is linked to the development of the community," Mr. Thanh affirmed.
