Immediately following the incident, Shinhan Life Vietnam Insurance Company Limited coordinated with authorities to verify information and confirm that one of the victims was a client. The client had purchased a credit life insurance policy through the company's bancassurance channel in 2022.

After verification, the company contacted the victim's family to guide them through the claims process. A Shinhan Life agent also visited the family to offer support and assistance in gathering the necessary documents, expediting the claims process.
According to the Insurance Supervisory Authority, as of now, in addition to Shinhan Life, seven life insurance companies have processed insurance claims for victims of the Ha Long accident, totaling over 14 billion VND.
The timely payout of insurance benefits by life insurance companies during this period helps alleviate the financial burden on the victims' families, providing support for loved ones to overcome difficulties and rebuild their lives. This also demonstrates the role of insurance in supporting clients during unexpected life events.
