On 15/1, Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) received Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) Certificate No. VN-669/CAAV from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, as per Decision No. 88/QD-CHK.
According to a Sun PhuQuoc Airways representative, this milestone demonstrates the airline's technical autonomy, establishing a foundation for operating its modern fleet. To achieve this certification, Sun PhuQuoc Airways underwent a rigorous evaluation of its technical management system, facilities, maintenance procedures, and personnel qualifications. "Technical autonomy is the final piece for our readiness to expand the international flight network," the representative stated.
The airline plans to launch its first international route from Taipei to Phu Quoc on 29/3, followed by expansion to Kaohsiung, Seoul, Busan, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Mumbai, and New Delhi.
Pham Dang Thanh, Deputy General Director for Technical Maintenance at Sun PhuQuoc Airways, noted that the AMO certificate reflects compliance with aviation safety standards. "We are quickly increasing the size of our fleet while building a solid technical foundation," he shared.
In-house maintenance capabilities allow the airline to proactively manage technical care, ensuring a high availability factor and maintaining consistent on-time performance (OTP). In 12/2025, SPA achieved an OTP of 93,5%, significantly higher than the industry average of 70,7%.
