Sun PhuQuoc Airways cleared for takeoff

Sun PhuQuoc Airways has received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), officially granting the airline permission to commence commercial flights.

The Sun Group subsidiary received the AOC on 25/9. This certificate is a crucial legal document, confirming that Sun PhuQuoc Airways meets all regulatory requirements for commercial flight operations.

To secure the AOC, Sun PhuQuoc Airways finalized and received CAAV approval for its operational documentation and procedures. The airline also successfully completed all required safety drills and operational tests.

On the same day, the airline also received its Approved Training Organization (ATO) certification. This certification, granted by the CAAV, allows Sun PhuQuoc Airways to independently train and develop highly qualified aviation personnel to support its operational and business plans.

Nguyen Manh Quan, general director of Sun PhuQuoc Airways, stated that receiving both the AOC and ATO certifications simultaneously marks a significant milestone, demonstrating the airline's thorough and comprehensive preparation.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways plans to begin ticket sales on its website in mid-October, with its inaugural flight scheduled for 1/11. Initially, the airline plans to operate 8 daily flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Other domestic routes include 5 daily flights between Hanoi and Phu Quoc, 8 daily flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc, and 3 daily flights between Hanoi and Da Nang.

Starting next year, the airline will expand its network to include international flights from Phu Quoc to South Korea, China, and Singapore. Sun PhuQuoc Airways has currently taken delivery of 3 A321 aircraft, with the possibility of adding 4 more by the end of the year. The airline plans to add 8 more aircraft next year to support the expansion of its international routes. By 2031, Sun Group's airline plans to operate 10 wide-body Boeing aircraft for transcontinental routes.

The Sun PhuQuoc Airways project has a total investment of 2,500 billion VND and aims to have a fleet of 31 aircraft by 2030. For Sun Group, this airline represents the final piece in its ecosystem, which includes resorts, entertainment, infrastructure, and real estate.
