Techcombank exclusively sponsors 'A.I. in action' competition

Techcombank is co-organizing and exclusively sponsoring "A.I. in action", the first artificial intelligence competition broadcast on Vietnam Television.

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Public Security, Vietnam Television, the National Data Center, the National Data Association, and Techcombank, the "A.I. in action" competition is aimed at students, lecturers, scientists, experts, and technology enthusiasts. The program is scheduled to air from September to December 2025, with the final taking place in mid-1/2026.

In addition to prizes from the organizers, the winning team will have the opportunity to receive a global AI scholarship worth up to 1 million USD from Techcombank and be connected to the bank's ecosystem to develop their careers in financial technology.

According to the organizers, "A.I. in action" was created as artificial intelligence is becoming a mainstream technology, profoundly impacting the global and Vietnamese economies. According to a 2024 McKinsey report, about 65% of the global workforce has used generative AI. In Vietnam, 74% of businesses have implemented digital strategies, and nearly 80% of them have applied AI in the past 12 months, according to a survey by CPA Australia. The OECD estimates that AI could contribute an additional 12% to Vietnam's GDP by 2030 if effectively exploited.

"The competition aims to discover and nurture tech talent starting from university, building a sustainable AI ecosystem, and working towards the goal of making Vietnam a center for innovation in the region," a representative of the organizing committee said. This is also a concrete implementation of the direction of Resolution 57 of the Politburo, emphasizing the breakthrough role of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

As the exclusive sponsor, Techcombank not only provides financial and human resources but also participates in shaping content and connecting experts and advisors to enhance the program's quality.

"We hope that 'A.I. in action' will become a key national program, a place to nurture AI talents who have the conditions to develop and contribute in the digital age," said Thai Minh Diem Tu, Chief Marketing Officer of Techcombank.

In recent years, Techcombank has promoted a digital transformation strategy revolving around three pillars: Digitization - Data - Talent. The bank is developing a generative AI platform, expected to be completed by mid-2026, aiming to comprehensively apply AI in banking operations, from internal operations to customer experience.

Through the "A.I. in action" program, Techcombank expects to expand its connection with the tech community, seek high-quality personnel, and test new ideas, contributing to enhancing innovation, data, and technology capabilities, the core elements in the sustainable development journey of the bank and the digital economy.

The organizers also hope that the program will spread widely to universities, research institutes, and the technology community nationwide, thereby forming a high-quality human resource base and contributing to promoting Vietnam's deep integration into the global technology map.
