Techcombank receives prime minister’s commendation

Techcombank received a commendation from the prime minister for its contributions to a key national social welfare program on 26/8.

The commendation was presented at a conference reviewing the "National Effort to Eradicate Temporary and Dilapidated Housing" program after over a year of implementation. The program, one of 250 key projects commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day on 2/9, has built and repaired over 334,000 houses, mobilized nearly 25,000 billion VND, and involved millions of volunteer days, achieving its 5-year goal ahead of schedule.

Techcombank's significant contributions to social welfare and community development were recognized at the event. The bank contributed 100 billion VND alongside other banks and organizations nationwide to the program.

In addition to financial support, Techcombank has undertaken several sustainable initiatives, including reforestation projects, issuing ICMA-standard green bonds, and launching the Techcombank Visa Eco card duo, which helps customers track and offset their CO2 emissions. The bank also invests in international community sporting events like the TP HCM International Marathon and the Hanoi International Marathon, promoting healthy lifestyles and community spirit.

"Working with the government and the banking sector for a prosperous and strong Vietnam in the new era is also Techcombank's long-term goal and commitment," he said.

The bank's representative added that the prime minister's commendation acknowledges the bank's contributions and motivates its staff to continue their leading role in sustainable development, aligned with their vision of "Transforming the financial industry, elevating the value of life."
