Vietnam's food and beverage (F&B) market is experiencing rapid growth, driving an increasing demand for safe, innovative, and environmentally friendly packaging. Recognizing this trend, Tetra Pak expanded its aseptic packaging plant in Binh Duong, providing F&B businesses with access to international-quality packaging domestically.
The Binh Duong factory now boasts a capacity of over 30 billion packs per year, meeting 97% of domestic demand. It also serves neighboring countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including key markets like Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Australia, and New Zealand.
In a recent interview, Tetra Pak President and CEO Adolfo Orive discussed the factory expansion and Vietnam's role in the company's global strategy.

Reflecting on the company's progress, Orive recalled the 2019 inauguration of the first production line at the Binh Duong factory. Tetra Pak recognized Vietnam's growth potential, fueled by consumer interest in innovation and high-quality food products.
Within 6 years, the Binh Duong factory has become one of Tetra Pak's leading global facilities. Its success is attributed to high quality and operational efficiency, along with the team's dedication to food safety. This prompted the expansion to serve both the domestic market and the growing demand in Southeast Asia, where modern factories and advanced technology are needed.
Tetra Pak's upcoming projects will expand into new product categories including ready-to-drink coffee and tea, iced tea, pretzels, plant-based beverages, and nutritional supplements. These are promising areas in Vietnam, where consumers value innovative products, food safety, and high quality. These factors also contribute to agricultural development by extending shelf life and reducing food waste.
Over 350 employees at the Binh Duong factory play a central role in driving innovation and maintaining high-quality standards. The factory operates with advanced technology from Sweden, combined with a skilled local workforce, making it a modern packaging hub that embodies engineering and quality excellence.
Tetra Pak is implementing advanced packaging technologies in the region, including high-speed packaging lines with a capacity of 40,000 packs per hour, setting new standards for efficiency and scalability in the F&B industry.

Highlighting Vietnam's significance, Orive emphasized Tetra Pak's commitment to ensuring food safety for Vietnamese consumers. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the Vietnam factory maintained continuous operations, with many employees volunteering to work on-site in field tents to ensure uninterrupted food packaging supply.
Maintaining strict quality standards demonstrates the company's long-term commitment to food safety. Amidst global supply chain challenges, expanding local and regional production in APAC is crucial. Vietnam plays a key role in ensuring an efficient supply chain for both the domestic market and neighboring countries.
The Binh Duong factory expansion, increasing capacity to over 30 billion packs per year, solidifies Tetra Pak's position as a major manufacturer in the Asia-Pacific region and ensures the highest quality control.
Looking ahead, Orive expressed confidence in Vietnam's continued growth, citing its young population, high internet usage, and vibrant coffee culture, which create a dynamic and innovative market. Modern consumers prioritize nutrition and quality, aligning with Tetra Pak's strengths and priorities.
Furthermore, Vietnam's agricultural development aligns with the company's vision of providing safe and sustainable food.
