Thanh Hoa province reported a budget revenue of 54,952 billion VND in 2025, reaching 121% of its estimated target. This fiscal success was announced during a recent conference by the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, which reviewed 2025 performance and set key objectives for 2026. Provincial leaders assessed 2025 as a year of sustained positive growth. The gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is estimated to have increased by 8.27%, ranking 15th out of 34 provinces and cities. Per capita GRDP reached 3,505 USD, an increase of 145 USD from the previous year.

The industrial sector experienced robust growth, with production rising by 15.8% and 17 of its 19 key products showing increased output. Total social development investment capital reached 148.5 trillion VND, marking a 7.5% increase. Thanh Hoa attracted 119 new investment projects, including 13 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, with a combined registered capital exceeding 18 trillion VND and 437 million USD. The province also saw the establishment of 3,510 new businesses, surpassing its target.
In cultural and social development, Thanh Hoa achieved notable progress. The province ranked 5th nationwide in the digital transformation index, and its poverty rate decreased significantly to 0.52%. The provincial government provided housing support for over 14,780 impoverished and policy-beneficiary households, allocating a total of 1,619 billion VND for construction and repairs.
Looking ahead to 2026, the conference established 32 key targets. These include a GRDP growth of 11% or more, an estimated total development investment capital of 168 trillion VND, a minimum 7% increase in budget revenue, and an export value of approximately 8.5 billion USD. Additionally, Thanh Hoa aims to construct at least 900 social housing units and work towards three more communes achieving new rural standards, 6 communes reaching advanced new rural status, and two communes becoming modern new rural areas.
Nguyen Doan Anh, the Provincial Party Secretary, acknowledged the extensive efforts of all levels and sectors. However, he also candidly addressed persistent shortcomings, particularly concerning the cadre team, especially at the commune level, as the province implemented a two-tier local government model.

The Provincial Party Secretary endorsed the 2026 goals, tasks, and solutions, instructing the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to collaborate with the Provincial Party Committee Office to finalize a report for submission to the Provincial Party Executive Committee at its upcoming conference.
