Thao Cam Vien revenue reaches record high

In the first quarter, Thao Cam Vien Saigon's revenue neared 49 billion dong, a 27% increase compared to the same period in 2025, marking its highest reported figure since publicly disclosing financial information.

According to the financial report of Thao Cam Vien Saigon One Member Limited Liability Company, first quarter revenue reached over 48,9 billion dong, an increase of almost 27% compared to the same period last year. This is the highest level recorded since the third quarter of 2023, which was the first time the company released quarterly information.

Gate admission revenue accounted for the majority of this figure, totaling over 31,2 billion dong. Additionally, the company generated revenue from beverage and food sales, games, car parking, and train and electric vehicle tickets.

While revenue increased, the cost of goods sold decreased by 16%. As a result, gross profit for this period reached nearly 23,7 billion dong, which is 2,7 times higher than in the first quarter of 2025.

Thao Cam Vien also recorded financial revenue of over 685 million dong, a significant rise from the nearly 9 million dong reported in the same period last year. The company did not provide specific explanations for this increase, but its balance sheet indicates nearly 64 billion dong in term deposits and nearly 2,6 billion dong in non-term deposits.

During the first quarter, operating expenses rose across the board. The company incurred no selling expenses and recorded only over 10 million dong in financial expenses. The majority of costs were attributed to corporate administration activities, totaling over 22,1 billion dong, which is 3,3 times higher than the same period. Of this, labor costs accounted for over 10,8 billion dong.

Overall, Thao Cam Vien Saigon reported an after-tax profit of nearly 2,3 billion dong, a slight increase of over 4% compared to the same period. This remains the highest profit level in almost two years. Cumulative profit to date stands at over 21 billion dong.

Thao Cam Vien One Member Limited Liability Company is a 100% state-owned enterprise under the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. It operates the facility of the same name in Saigon Ward, the former center of District 1. Established in 1864 as the Botanic Garden, Thao Cam Vien later became commonly known as "the Zoo" by local residents. The facility is over 160 years old and functions as a conservation, breeding, and development center for flora and fauna.

Since 2015, Thao Cam Vien has operated with complete financial self-sufficiency, no longer receiving budget support. Management aims for Thao Cam Vien to be a financially healthy and efficient operation. The company is tasked with achieving an average annual growth of 8% or more in revenue, pre-tax profit, and budget contributions. Employee income is targeted to increase by an average of 5% annually.

Thao Cam Vien is also responsible for conservation efforts, receiving and caring for rescued animals, and supporting animal welfare cases. Recently, it assisted in the sorting, care, and treatment of over 400 cats rescued by the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department's Criminal Police Division from an inter-provincial theft, purchase, and consumption ring.
