Ton Nam Kim showcases specialized product at A80 exhibition

Nam Kim brings its durable, corrosion-resistant Zinmag steel to the 80th Anniversary of National Achievements Exhibition.

Nam Kim Steel Joint Stock Company participated in the "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" exhibition, the largest event of its kind to date, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (2/9). The exhibition ran from 28/8 to 5/9 at the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh, Hanoi.

On opening day, thousands visited the Nam Kim booth to learn about Zinmag, a 3% magnesium-alloy coated steel pioneered, produced, and commercialized globally in Vietnam, with a warranty of up to 50 years. According to a company representative, the product has diverse applications, from residential and industrial uses to infrastructure (electrical cabinets, cable trays, purlins, HVAC systems, soundproof walls, and expressway guardrails). It also meets international standards such as JIS, ASTM, EN, AS, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.

Zinmag's durability stems from simonkolleite, a naturally forming double salt compound of zinc, magnesium, and chloride hydroxide that develops during oxidation. This layer "self-heals" at bends, scratches, and cut edges, effectively preventing corrosion even in marine, industrial, and humid environments.

To provide more visual information, Nam Kim displayed Zinmag samples that underwent corrosion testing in a harsh C5X level acid environment according to ISO:9226 for over 17,000 hours. The results showed that the product's surface remained effectively protected.

The product received positive feedback from visitors. Ho Nghia Dung, former president and current honorary president of the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA), praised Zinmag, particularly for its application in guardrails and soundproof walls on expressways, an effective practice in many developed countries.

Speaking at the event, Vo Hoang Vu, general director of Ton Nam Kim, expressed his honor at participating in the exhibition celebrating 80 years of national achievements and the opportunity to showcase the company's products and 23-year legacy. "We are also proud to be among the top 50 private enterprises that paid the most taxes in Vietnam in 2024. We will continue to innovate, create, and develop sustainably, contributing to the country's prosperity," he added.

Over the past two decades, Ton Nam Kim products have been used in major projects such as Long Thanh Airport, Tan Son Nhat Station, and the LG Hai Phong factory, and have been exported to 65 countries and territories. From a nation reliant on steel imports, Vietnam now boasts reputable domestic brands, with Ton Nam Kim contributing to raising the steel industry's global standing.
