Sarah Ruffcorn, president of Trinity Logistics, stated that the merger opens "an exciting new chapter" for both parties. She also praised Granite's industry experience and commitment to customer and carrier relationships.
Granite Logistics co-owners Jeff Smiens and Pat Lynch will remain with the organization post-acquisition. Smiens emphasized that the business is not changing its identity but expanding its service capabilities under a nationwide brand. Lynch viewed this as a natural progression after nearly 14 years of partnership with Trinity.
Minnesota-based Granite Logistics previously served as a Trinity agent partner for nearly 14 years. Granite currently has about 135 employees.
Trinity, a third-party logistics provider headquartered in Seaford, Delaware, is currently ranked 60th on Transport Topics' Top 100 largest logistics companies in North America and 24th in freight brokerage. Before acquiring Granite, Trinity had about 420 employees. A Trinity representative stated that Granite has been one of the company's most successful and reputable agent partners over the years.
