VietinBank's 37-year journey of growth

Over 37 years of development, VietinBank has affirmed its position as a national financial pillar, accompanying the country's innovation and international integration.

Building a smart and sustainable financial ecosystem is VietinBank's current goal. The bank is applying a strategy based on the pillars of internal digitalization, green transformation and sustainable development, private sector support, and international integration.

Growing alongside businesses

VietinBank is applying AI, big data, and API technologies on platforms like VietinBank eFAST, ERP, Merchant Platform, eContract, and Smart POS. The bank also collaborates with Fintech companies and payment partners to expand its open ecosystem.

With a focus on sustainable development, VietinBank provides green finance, preferential credit, and ESG consulting, supporting businesses toward net-zero emissions. It also offers flexible capital solutions ranging from working capital and medium-to-long-term loans to M&A and bond issuance tailored to specific industries.

Internationally, VietinBank acts as a bridge for commerce, providing supply chain finance, international payments, FX, and derivatives, supporting FDI enterprises, import-export activities, and capitalizing on supply chain shifts.

As of 30/6, outstanding corporate loans reached over 1.1 quadrillion VND, increasing nearly 1.6 times. Capital mobilization reached 702,000 billion VND, also increasing nearly 1.6 times compared to the end of 2020.

A top retail bank

In retail banking, VietinBank continues to expand its scale, promote digitalization, and enhance customer experience. The bank's 2024 CASA increased by 31%, and retail outstanding loans have seen continuous double-digit growth over the years. Adhering to a customer-centric philosophy, VietinBank is innovating its product and service strategy towards personalized solutions. From students and staff to individual business households, everyone benefits from tailored solutions.

The bank has also launched modern products such as AI-powered customer identification, online loan disbursement, online loan applications, online overdrafts, card management on iPay, and Shop365. In the future, VietinBank iPay Mobile will be upgraded into a smart financial assistant, applying AI, blockchain, and cloud technology to enhance automation and security.

With the increasing demand for personalization in retail banking, VietinBank will focus on: personalizing customer experiences with AI and big data; applying technology in marketing activities; building a comprehensive digital ecosystem; and increasing risk management capacity using technology.

Expanding international cooperation

In treasury, VietinBank has made its mark by continuously expanding its scale, optimizing its portfolio, and boosting proprietary trading profits, contributing to a shift in revenue structure towards increased non-credit income. VietinBank is among the pioneers in providing modern derivative products like IRS and CCS to help customers manage risks effectively. The bank also provides solutions to mitigate price fluctuation risks for businesses in agriculture, fuel, energy, and metals.

In addition, VietinBank has mobilized about 75,000 billion VND in bonds over five years. In the first six months of 2025 alone, it issued 16,350 billion VND through two public offerings and seven private placements. The bank is optimizing the issuance process through digital platforms to enhance the investor experience. VietinBank also continues to strengthen its position through strategic cooperation with domestic and international institutions.

Currently, VietinBank is steadfastly pursuing its DX (Digital Transformation) - CX (Customer Experience) - EX (Employee Experience) journey, connecting the power of people, data, and AI. The bank places special emphasis on promoting IT platform initiatives, modernizing infrastructure, data, and risk management, and ensuring secure transactions. At the same time, VietinBank is pioneering the implementation of an experience management project to increase customer satisfaction and engagement.

For its efforts over 37 years, VietinBank has received numerous prestigious awards: 14 consecutive years in Forbes' Top 2,000 Largest Enterprises in the World; seven times in Brand Finance's Top 300 Most Valuable Banking Brands in the World; eight times as a National Brand; five consecutive years as the Best SME Bank in Vietnam by The Asian Banker; nine consecutive years as the Best Retail Bank in Vietnam by Global Banking & Finance Review; Sao Khue 2025 with five outstanding digital products, especially VietinBank iPay Mobile, which was ranked in the Top 10 Sao Khue for the eighth consecutive time.
