Vietjet appoints new CEO

Vietjet has appointed Nguyen Thanh Son as its new CEO, succeeding Dinh Viet Phuong.

The new CEO holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor's degree in aviation economics, bringing over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry. Son has been with Vietjet since its inception, holding various key positions and contributing significantly to the airline's development, particularly in business and marketing.

Son is expected to lead Vietjet into a new era of growth, focusing on sustainability, technological advancement, broader connectivity, and enhanced value for passengers and the community.

Vietjet, Vietnam's largest private airline, is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and holds the IOSA Operational Safety Audit certification. The airline has achieved a 7-star safety rating—the highest globally—from AirlineRatings. It has also been recognized as one of the top 50 global airlines for operations and financial health by AirFinance Journal. Vietjet consistently receives awards as the best low-cost carrier from prestigious organizations such as Skytrax, CAPA, and AirlineRatings.
