Vietjet breaks ground on $100 million maintenance hangar at Long Thanh international airport

Vietjet commenced construction on two new hangars at Long Thanh international airport on 19/8. The $100 million project will accommodate 10 aircraft simultaneously.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on the morning of 19/8, coinciding with the inauguration and commencement of 250 projects with a total investment of 1.28 quadrillion VND. These events were held at 80 locations across the country to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (2/9). Many leaders from the Party, State, and businesses witnessed the event.

The maintenance center project has a total investment of $100 million (over 1.7 trillion VND) and includes hangars 3 and 4 at Long Thanh international airport. The facility will be able to service 10 aircraft at a time with state-of-the-art equipment, meeting international standards.

The center is expected to meet the maintenance and repair needs of Vietjet's fleet, contributing to enhanced aviation technical service capabilities. It will also serve as a maintenance hub for other domestic airlines, meeting the operational requirements of Long Thanh international airport and the entire aviation industry. The project demonstrates Vietjet's long-term investment commitment during this new phase of the country's development.

Long Thanh international airport is being built on 5,000 hectares with a total estimated investment of approximately 336.63 trillion VND. Phase one of the project will include a runway, passenger terminal, and ancillary facilities, with a capacity of 25 million passengers per year, expected to be completed in 2026.
