The "Sustainability Awards 2025," announced for the first time by AirlineRatings, acknowledges airlines making strides in reducing their environmental impact. Vietjet is one of three low-cost carriers included, thanks to its efforts in promoting green aviation and sustainable development.
The airline's modern fleet, primarily composed of A321neos, allows for fuel efficiency, reduced CO2 emissions, and less noise compared to previous generations of aircraft. Vietjet is also pioneering the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and implementing various energy-saving operational solutions.
Vietjet is the first airline in Vietnam to publish an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sustainability report. The company recently partnered with Petrolimex Aviation to utilize SAF blended according to ISCC EU standards. To date, Vietjet has invested tens of billions of USD to order 40 A330neo wide-body aircraft, which reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 25%, and has also ordered 100 A321neo aircraft, aiming for net-zero emissions by 2050.
