For the first time since its inception in 2016, Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company (Vietlott) has set an annual revenue target exceeding 10,000 billion dong. This ambitious goal, outlined in its newly released plan, aims for 10,852 billion dong, representing a 12% increase from last year. This translates to average daily sales of approximately 30 billion dong, nine times higher than its initial sales. Phone ticket sales are expected to generate 6,030 billion dong, accounting for over 55% of this projected revenue. Its terminal distribution network will contribute the remaining 4,760 billion dong, with a small portion from financial revenue.
To achieve this significant milestone, Vietlott's leadership has outlined several key initiatives. These include expanding its network of sales points, increasing the number of prize-winning accounts accessible via phone, and exploring opportunities for business expansion.
Under current regulations, Vietlott allocates 55% of its ticket sales revenue to the prize fund. After deducting all operating expenses, the company anticipates a pre-tax profit of 440 billion dong. This year, Vietlott aims to contribute nearly 2,580 billion dong to taxes and the national budget. Notably, local budgets receive all revenue from the company's computerized lottery operations, which constitutes nearly 30% of ticket sales revenue, including both taxes and after-tax profit.
Vietlott operates as a state-owned enterprise, with the Ministry of Finance managing 100% of its capital. The company currently offers seven self-selected lottery products, encompassing matrix, number sequence, and quick draw games. By the end of last year, its robust distribution network included 6,230 sales points and 3.7 million prize-winning accounts accessible via phone. In the previous year, Vietlott generated 9,686 billion dong in revenue, averaging approximately 26.5 billion dong daily. This performance exceeded the target set by its managing unit by 11%. During that period, the company recorded 32 million winning tickets, with total prize payouts surpassing 5,340 billion dong.
