Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company (Vietlott) reported total revenue of 4,565 billion VND in its newly released semi-annual financial report. Matrix-based lottery products contributed nearly 2,700 billion VND, equivalent to 56% of total revenue. Quick draw and number sequence lottery formats generated 1,755 billion VND and 242 billion VND, respectively.
Vietlott paid out nearly 2,500 billion VND in prizes during the first six months. This represents the largest portion of the cost of goods sold. After deducting all expenses, the company reported a pre-tax profit of 244 billion VND and a post-tax profit of nearly 196 billion VND, both up approximately 15% year-on-year.
According to a Vietlott representative, the double-digit revenue growth is attributed to several factors: Jackpots consistently reached hundreds of billions of VND over many periods, and both distribution channels (through terminals and mobile phones) operated stably. The company also introduced a new product at the end of June and is diversifying its player base, focusing more on Gen Z.
This year, the Ministry of Finance assigned Vietlott a revenue target of 8,750 billion VND and a pre-tax profit target of 305 billion VND. The company has achieved 52% and 80% of these targets, respectively, in the first half of the year.
Vietlott stated that its distribution network currently comprises over 6,620 terminals for direct ticket sales and over 3 million registered accounts for mobile lottery participation. The company expects mobile sales to contribute 4,262 billion VND and direct sales to contribute 4,427 billion VND to total revenue.
As of the end of June, Vietlott's total assets reached 2,033 billion VND, an increase of nearly 340 billion VND since the beginning of the year.
