According to Vietnam Airlines, starting 1/12, the airline will begin selling Pizza 4P's on some domestic flights with a minimum flight time of one hour and international flights with a minimum of one hour 30 minutes, departing from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. This marks the first time the airline has sold food on board.
The two pizza types chosen for sale are Margherita and 4 Cheese, priced at 119,000 VND for a half-size, which is half of a regular pizza. Passengers must pre-order the service at least 24 hours before their flight via the airline's website or app.
Currently, most domestic airlines like Vietjet, Bamboo Airways, and Vietravel Airlines also sell additional food and souvenirs on flights to boost revenue beyond ticket sales. In Quarter III, Vietjet's ancillary revenue (from baggage, on-board sales, etc.) exceeded 6 trillion VND.
As for Vietnam Airlines, in addition to providing complimentary meals with tickets, they also began selling milk tea on board from mid-2022, priced at 49,000 VND per cup on domestic routes and 100,000 VND on international routes.

According to Vietnam Airlines, instead of limiting themselves to traditional meal options, they are focusing on more personalized, co-branded products that appeal to young people, families, and international travelers. Dang Anh Tuan, the company's deputy general director, stated that introducing pizza on flights is part of their plan to enhance passenger service experiences.
Pizza 4P's was founded in 2011 by Japanese couple Yosuke Masuko and Sanae Takasugi. While pizza is its main product, Pizza 4P's positions itself as a restaurant chain rather than a fast-food outlet. The brand now has 40 restaurants, with 35 establishments in Vietnam. The five remaining stores are located in Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, and India.
