Speaking at the event, Vietnam's Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung emphasized that amid deepening globalization and rapid digital transformation, the cultural industry is increasingly becoming a strategic pillar in socio-economic development and a tool for promoting national image. Vietnam, with its rich cultural heritage, young and creative workforce, and a market of nearly 100 million people, possesses favorable conditions to develop a modern, competitive, and internationally integrated cultural industry.
The minister highlighted that, building on the positive outcomes of the Vietnam – South Korea Tourism Promotion and Cultural Cooperation Forum held in 2024, this forum serves as an important continuation to share experiences, policy directions, and explore investment opportunities. According to Mr. Hung, this is a practical effort contributing to Vietnam's strategic goal of making the cultural industry a key economic sector, contributing 7% to the GDP by 2030, as directed by the government.

Tran Hoang, Director General of the Copyright Office (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), presented key policies and achievements in Vietnam's cultural industry development, as well as the current state of bilateral cooperation with South Korea in areas such as music, film, fashion, video games, and copyright.
According to Mr. Hoang, software products, entertainment games, cultural tourism, film, and music are among the 12 core areas of the cultural industry strategy. Prioritizing these products not only reflects global integration trends but also demonstrates a clear awareness of the creative and economic potential, as well as the widespread influence of this sector.
He proposed five strategic cooperation directions: sharing policy-making experiences, particularly on copyright and related rights; promoting joint creative branding; collaborating on cultural market and product development, especially in film, music, tourism, design, and gaming; enhancing business connections and investment in production; and strengthening specialized training and human resource exchange in key areas.
