As of 28/8, 18 banks have partnered with the VNeID app to distribute social welfare benefits. These include VietinBank, BIDV, Vietcombank, LPBank, HDBank, MB, Sacombank, PVcomBank, TPBank, ShinhanBank, NCB, NamABank, Kienlongbank, Agribank, BVBank, ACB, Viiki Bank, and Co-opBank.
Citizens can also receive the payment through VNPT's Mobile Money accounts.
To receive the social welfare payment, citizens need a level-2 VNeID account linked to a bank account registered within the VNeID system. The national electronic identification and authentication system will share data with Napas and participating banks.
Those with linked bank accounts can access the benefit through the VNeID app. First, they select the "Social Welfare" section, then "Social Welfare Account." After entering their passcode, they choose their bank and input their account number and 9-digit national identification number (if used for prior registration).
The system will confirm successful submission and begin processing. While confirmation is usually swift, it may take longer during peak usage times.
On the evening of 28/8, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh issued an official dispatch stating that the Politburo approved a 100,000 VND cash gift for all Vietnamese citizens to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on 2/9.
The Ministry of Finance and relevant agencies were instructed to allocate funds for the gifts before 29/8.
Previously, the Ministry of Public Security, in collaboration with banks, was tasked with facilitating the creation of social welfare accounts for all citizens. The goal is to ensure 100% coverage this year. They are also reviewing citizen accounts on VNeID and linked bank accounts to ensure accuracy, transparency, and prevent fraud in social welfare payments.
