Driven by a customer-centric retail development strategy, digital transformation, and business model innovation, BIDV recorded strong retail performance in 2025. Retail credit and individual customer deposits each exceeded 1.1 trillion VND, making BIDV the first bank in Vietnam to reach this milestone for both indicators. Its individual customer base expanded to over 26 million customers, with over 84% of transactions conducted via digital channels.
Alongside increasing its scale, the bank developed tailored financial solutions for various customer segments, including young people, small traders, retirees, and affluent clients.
For small traders and household businesses, BIDV launched MyShop Pro, a sales management solution integrated directly into the BIDV SmartBanking app. This tool helps users manage revenue and cash flow, access digital banking services, and adapt to new tax models.
For young and mass market customers, the bank implemented many preferential credit programs for business production, consumption, and green credit. A notable initiative is the 40 trillion VND home loan package for individuals under 35, offering preferential interest rates to support young people in achieving homeownership, aligning with government policy.
In the affluent customer segment, BIDV collaborated with domestic and international partners to offer exclusive service programs such as Women & Wealth, Next Gen, and Top VIP. These initiatives aim to provide financial and lifestyle solutions meeting international standards.
Along with product development, BIDV identified technology and digital infrastructure as strategic foundations for enhancing customer experience.
In 2025, the bank continuously upgraded its technology platforms and expanded its digital utility ecosystem. A significant improvement was BIDV SmartBanking version X, which featured three main upgrades: a redesigned user experience with Emerald and Pearl interfaces; the integration of AI/ML for personalized services based on customer behavior; and the addition of utilities such as automated investment, salary advance loans, online card opening, and personal finance management.
The bank also launched a new version of BIDV Home, a digital platform connecting customers, developers, banks, and related service providers in real estate and automotive. This ecosystem digitizes the entire journey from product search, purchase, and loan application to tracking loan progress, simplifying customer experience and expanding cooperation opportunities for ecosystem partners.

As part of the awards, BIDV's online deposit product also received the "best deposit product in Asia Pacific" from The Asian Banker.
According to the organizers, the award recognizes BIDV's efforts to popularize online saving habits among the public. The online term deposit product on BIDV SmartBanking allows customers to choose various deposit forms, such as fixed deposits or flexible principal withdrawals, and receive interest monthly or at maturity. Customers can also use utilities like online pledged loans or transfer savings when needed for spending.
Beyond saving functions, the bank developed additional utilities such as accumulated savings for goals like home purchase or overseas study, and automated investment of idle funds directly from checking accounts.
According to BIDV, thanks to these digital utilities, the bank's digital channel deposits increased by over 50% annually from 2021-2025. This growth contributed to promoting online saving habits and expanding access to digital financial services across many customer segments.
