Viettel IDC has received two gold International Business Awards (IBA), one for sustainable service and another for its technology event. The award ceremony is scheduled for 10/10 in Lisbon, Portugal.
The "Sustainable Service of the Year" award recognizes Viettel IDC's digital infrastructure achievements related to its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. One key achievement is the 2024 launch of the Viettel Hoa Lac Data Center, featuring 60,000 servers, over 2,400 racks, 30 MW of power capacity, and 21,000 m2 of floor space. Viettel IDC has also made strides in three ESG pillars: saving electricity and reducing CO2 emissions, increasing the use of solar energy, and implementing virtual computers for employees, reducing power consumption by 88% and eliminating over 500 old electronic devices. The company has also contributed hundreds of millions of Vietnamese dong to humanitarian organizations, shared technology knowledge with nearly 10,000 businesses, and trained employees and suppliers on anti-corruption measures to ensure transparency.
According to the Stevie Awards judges (IBA organizers), Viettel IDC is a pioneer in integrating sustainable development into its core business strategy through concrete projects and initiatives. Viettel IDC is not only changing Vietnam's digital landscape but also setting standards for responsible development in emerging markets.
Beyond its sustainability strategy, Viettel IDC also won gold in the "Technology Event" category for its Data Center & Cloud Infrastructure (DCCI) Summit.
