VNPAY adds credit card payments via QR code

VNPAY introduces credit card payments through VNPAY-QR on banking apps, leveraging card benefits and promoting cashless transactions.

VNPAY has introduced a new feature that allows users to pay with their credit cards via VNPAY-QR codes on banking apps. This caters to the growing popularity of credit card usage in Vietnam. Users can now select their credit card as the payment source when scanning a VNPAY-QR code, eliminating the need for a physical card.

VNPAY expects this new solution to rapidly expand credit card payment acceptance across various businesses, from shopping malls and supermarkets to street food vendors. This will offer a more convenient payment experience, free from the constraints of traditional card terminals. It also enables users to fully utilize credit card benefits such as deferred payments, bank rewards programs, and VNPAY promotions.

Furthermore, paying without a physical card reduces the risk of card loss and enhances transaction security through cashless payments. Tran Manh Nam, a VNPAY-QR representative, stated that the expansion of QR code payments to include credit cards is a significant upgrade to VNPAY's digital payment ecosystem.

"This allows users to maximize the benefits of their credit cards, helps businesses reach a larger customer base with clear spending needs, and ultimately boosts revenue for VNPAY's payment partners," Nam said.

As cashless payments become increasingly prevalent, integrating credit cards into VNPAY-QR is a strategic step in developing Vietnam's digital financial ecosystem. This VNPAY solution promises to promote a modern lifestyle aligned with Vietnam's digital future.
