VPBank lowers home loan interest rates for young people

VPBank has reduced its home loan interest rates to 6.1% per year, fixed for 12 months, with a 24-month grace period on principal repayments, to help young people become homeowners sooner.

According to a survey conducted by One Mount Group in Hanoi in 5/2025, 88% of participants said they plan to buy a house within the next two years. Of these, the 18-35 age group accounted for 27%, reflecting the growing trend of early homeownership. CBRE experts note that young people increasingly prefer independent living, desiring control over their living space and a higher quality of life.

However, the biggest obstacle for young people remains limited financial capacity, while real estate prices in major cities remain high. This makes it difficult for many young people to access housing without appropriate support solutions.

In response to this need, VPBank has launched a preferential home loan package for customers aged 18 to 35, with a term of up to 35 years, allowing for disbursement of up to 80% of the property value. The bank also offers a flexible early repayment fee policy, not exceeding 2.5%, and completely waiving the fee from the 5th year onwards. This policy allows customers greater control over their financial planning, especially if they need to settle their loan early without incurring significant additional costs. The program is currently available in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.

A VPBank representative stated that the entire loan process at the bank is conducted online through the VPBank RACE digital approval system. Customers declare information, submit documents, and track the loan processing status via the app. The system will return approval results within one minute and disburse the loan one day after approval.

"We want to create favorable financial conditions to help young people settle down, build their careers, and contribute positively to the economy," the bank representative said.

Kim Loan, 32, a financial specialist in Hanoi, is one of the customers who has used VPBank's home loan package. After months of searching but not finding a suitable property due to price and size discrepancies, she found a suitable apartment in Ha Dong, but needed to borrow an additional 800 million VND to complete the transaction.

"VPBank had a loan package that met my financial needs, and the application process was very quick. The loan was disbursed after just one week, and now I'm waiting for the title deed transfer," she shared.

According to the bank representative, the loan package not only solves immediate financial problems but also contributes to building a long-term foundation for settling down, helping young people focus on their careers and contribute to sustainable socio-economic development.
