According to documents from VPS Securities Joint Stock Company's second extraordinary general meeting held on 29/9, the company plans an initial public offering (IPO) of up to 202.3 million shares. The IPO is scheduled for between the fourth quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, pending approval from the State Securities Commission.
The board of directors also presented to shareholders a proposal to register and deposit all VPS shares at the Vietnam Securities Depository (VSDC). Following the IPO, the company intends to list its shares on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE).
If, after the IPO, VPS shares do not meet the listing requirements, the company plans to trade them on the Unlisted Public Company Market (UPCoM).
In addition to the IPO, VPS also plans to sell 161.8 million shares to professional securities investors and issue a bonus of 710 million shares to existing shareholders. Upon completion of these capital increases, the company's charter capital could triple from its current 5.7 trillion VND to 16.442 trillion VND.
VPS follows two other large securities firms, TCBS and VPBankS, which also conducted IPOs this year. Nguyen Duc Toan, director of the second branch at Mirae Asset Securities, noted that the listing of established companies with stable financials like VPS offers investors, especially institutional and foreign investors, more options.
Founded in 2006, VPS began as Vietnam Prosperity Bank Securities Company Limited (VPBS), a subsidiary of VPBank. However, in 12/2015, VPBank sold 89% of its stake in VPBS. The sale price and the acquiring party were not disclosed.
VPS has led the securities brokerage market share since the first quarter of 2021. In the first half of this year, the company's market share on the HoSE reached 16.02%, slightly down from 18.26% last year. In derivatives trading, they maintain a significant lead over competitors, holding 47.71% of the market.
