Vice chairman Nguyen Van Tho acknowledged CMA CGM's practical contributions to the local economy. He affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City is committed to administrative reform, creating favorable conditions for investors interested in developing the port and maritime transport system.
The city is focusing on building an open port system, reforming customs clearance procedures, establishing a free trade zone, and encouraging businesses to expand investment in modern logistics and multimodal transport, contributing to making Ho Chi Minh City an international logistics hub and a key regional maritime gateway.
Nguyen Van Tho assigned the Department of Construction and the Department of Finance to connect and share information, facilitating CMA CGM's exploration of investment cooperation opportunities.
The Department of Construction stated that after the merger, Ho Chi Minh City will adjust the planning and distribution of functions and tasks of the ports to create a unified and synchronized port cluster. The city is expected to complete the general planning for seaport development this year and call for investment in the Can Gio International Transshipment Port and Cai Mep – Thi Vai projects.
