As of 10/1, An Giang and Lam Dong lead with a 14-day continuous holiday, from 9/2 to 22/2 (the 22nd day of the 12th lunar month to the 5th day of the 1st lunar month).
Students in Quang Ninh also have a total of 14 days off. The province's official schedule is from 16/2 to 28/2 (13 days), but since 1/3 is a sunday, students do not return to school until 2/3. This makes Quang Ninh the locality where students return to school latest nationwide.
Tay Ninh follows with a 12-day holiday. Meanwhile, TP HCM, Can Tho, and Ha Tinh all grant students 11 days off. However, the two southern cities begin and end their holidays one day earlier than Ha Tinh.
Ha Noi currently offers students the shortest Tet holiday. The official holiday for students in the capital lasts 5 days, from 16/2 to 20/2 (the 29th day of the 12th lunar month to the 4th day of the 1st lunar month). Due to weekends before and after the official break, students who do not attend school on saturday can have a maximum of 9 days off.

In mid-october, the government finalized the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday schedule, running from 14/2 to 22/2, which is the 27th day of the 12th lunar month (Year of At Ty) to the end of the 6th day of the 1st lunar month (Year of Binh Ngo), totaling 9 days.
This year, the country has approximately 23 million preschool and general education students. According to regulations from the Ministry of Education and Training, provinces and cities can proactively determine their academic year plans, provided they ensure a minimum of 35 weeks of actual study. The first semester must conclude before 18/1, and the second semester before 31/5.
