Vietnam National University, Hanoi announced the appointment on 2/3. Vice Director Nguyen Hieu will manage VNU's operations until the competent authority finalizes the director's position.
Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Hieu, 50, originally from Ha Nam (now Ninh Binh), graduated with a bachelor's degree in geography in 1996. He earned a doctoral degree in geomorphology and paleogeography in 2008 from the University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. He was appointed associate professor in 2011.
Nguyen Hieu previously served as vice head of the geography faculty at the University of Science, head of the Party Committee's organizing board, and head of VNU's personnel organizing board. In late 2021, he became vice director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, tasked with organizational structure, human resource development, university administration, construction investment, and the development of the university urban area in Hoa Lac. The university considers these strategic areas crucial for VNU's sustainable development.
