10th-grade student forces peer to kneel, presses burning cigarette near face

A 10th-grade female student in Cu M'gar district assaulted a classmate at a rental house, pulling her hair, hitting her, and pressing a burning cigarette near her face.

On 7/10, Le Van Hao, principal of Cu M'gar High School, stated that the incident, which occurred on the afternoon of 5/10, was of a grave nature. The school is coordinating with Quang Phu commune police to verify the incident.

A video, over 3 minutes long, circulating on social media shows a female student in a white shirt repeatedly pulling the hair and hitting the head of another female student kneeling on a tiled floor. During the assault, the aggressor smoked a cigarette and twice pressed the burning cigarette close to the victim's face. Several other students stood by, watching and recording the incident on their phones.

The school initially determined that the incident stemmed from a verbal dispute. Following this disagreement, the 10th-grade student sought out her classmate at a rental house on Kim Dong street to address the issue.

The school board promptly requested homeroom teachers to collect statements from the involved students and invited their parents for discussions. All parties signed a commitment to ensure the students' safety, allowing them to continue attending school while authorities handle the case.

According to a school representative, the assaulted student did not sustain physical injuries. However, her family and teachers are continuing to monitor her to prevent any potential psychological impact.
