Le Thanh Tong Primary-Secondary-High School in Ho Chi Minh City is celebrating two of its students, Dinh Ngoc Hai Lam and Nguyen Le Yen Nhi, who achieved perfect 30/30 scores in the B00 subject combination (mathematics, chemistry, biology) during the 2026 high school graduation exam. Le Huu Khuong, head of boarding school administration at the school, confirmed that both students are from the specialized B00 classes.
The Ministry of Education and Training announced the high school graduation exam scores for over 1.2 million candidates on the morning of 1/7. Nationwide, four valedictorians achieved perfect scores in the B00 subject combination, and one student achieved a perfect score in the A00 subject combination (mathematics, physics, chemistry).
Le Thanh Tong Primary-Secondary-High School is part of the Nguyen Khuyen private school system in Ho Chi Minh City. These schools are renowned, yet also generate discussion due to their strict study and daily schedules, particularly for boarding students. In addition to two daily class sessions, students have evening study hours and are prohibited from using mobile phones. If needed, they use school phones or borrow from their homeroom teachers. Families can visit their children on saturday and sunday.
For the past two years, this school system has consistently produced valedictorians for various university admission subject combinations.
The 2026 high school graduation exam took place on 11-12/6, involving over 1.2 million candidates, a record number. This year, regardless of the university admission method, candidates must achieve a minimum of 15 high school graduation exam points across a three-subject combination.
Following the score release, candidates have 5 days to request a score review if needed, with the deadline on 5/7. From 2/7, students can begin registering and adjusting their university and college admission preferences on the Ministry's system, continuing until 17h on 14/7.
