*Update
This second exam was prompted by a cheating scandal at Tuyen Quang specialized high school during the national high school graduation exam on 11-12/6, which involved over 1,2 million students nationwide. The irregularities came to light when 299 out of 328 students at the specialized high school achieved scores above 9 in Math.
Initial investigations by authorities revealed collusion among parents, students, and teachers. To safeguard the legitimate rights of students and avoid prolonged delays, the Ministry of Education and Training decided to organize a retake exam for the Tuyen Quang specialized high school students on 14-15/8.
The ministry reported that the retake exam was conducted safely, seriously, and in compliance with regulations. Teachers across all subjects noted that the exam papers were comparable in structure and difficulty to those administered on 11-12/6.
Students wishing to appeal their scores can submit requests until 23/8. Exam result certificates will be issued on 21/8. These scores are valid for both high school graduation and university admissions. Universities confirmed they would consider supplementary admissions based on students' registered preferences via the ministry's system and the previously announced benchmark scores.
