Minister Nguyen Kim Son announced this at the higher education conference on 18/9. Digital academic records will include results from primary and secondary education, while digital diplomas will cover both secondary and higher education levels.
"This is a mandatory task in the coming period. Schools need to pay special attention to providing these digital diplomas," Son said.
Currently, academic records and diplomas are commonly used for various purposes such as transferring schools, enrolling in new programs, and applying for jobs.

The government's action plan to implement Resolution 71 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training also requires the establishment of a national database for digital academic records and diplomas, linked to individual identification codes. This is slated for completion in 2025.
On 13/9, the Prime Minister requested that government agencies should not require citizens to submit or present documents already integrated into the VNeID app during administrative procedures.
In addition to integrating academic records and diplomas on VNeID, Minister Nguyen Kim Son urged schools to accelerate their digital transformation, applying artificial intelligence to build open educational resources for the entire education sector and society.
