The Ministry of Education and Training announced that candidates need a math score of 7,5 or higher on the high school graduation examination to be eligible for admission into semiconductor microchip training programs. This requirement, outlined in a dispatch sent to universities on 14/7, places successful candidates within the top 20% nationally for this subject.
Beyond the math score, the Ministry's semiconductor microchip training program standards, released last year, stipulate that applicants must also have a high school graduation examination score (based on subject combination) within the top 25% nationwide. This combination must include math and at least one other natural science subject. According to this year's examination score distribution, a score of 22,75 is required to be in the top 25%.
While some institutions, such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, have updated their admission information to reflect these new math requirements, most universities have yet to formally announce their specific conditions for the math subject. The floor scores for admission into semiconductor microchip majors also vary significantly across institutions. For instance, the University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, sets its floor score at 22, Phenikaa University at 24, and Hanoi University of Industry at 18.
University floor scores for 210 universities - tuition fees for 120 universities
Today, 17h marks the final deadline for candidates to register or adjust their university admission aspirations through the Ministry's centralized online system. Prospective students interested in semiconductor microchip fields should promptly review and modify their applications if needed.
Candidates can pay their application fees online starting tomorrow until 17h on 21/7.
Universities will announce their official cut-off scores after the final virtual filtering process, which is scheduled to conclude after 17h on 10/8. Admitted candidates are required to confirm their enrollment on the system by 17h on 21/8.
