Art school tuition fees reach over 82 million VND per year

Tuition fees at art schools range from 15 to 82.5 million VND for the upcoming academic year, with most seeing an increase compared to the previous year.

Vietnam currently has 54 professional art and culture training institutions, along with numerous other universities offering programs in these fields. Several have announced tuition fee increases of approximately 1.5 to 3.6 million VND compared to 2024. The highest fee for standard programs is between 30.4 and 31.8 million VND at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi's School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts. For international programs, the highest fee is 82.5 million VND at Hanoi Architectural University.

The Hue Academy of Music has the lowest tuition at 15 million VND, a 1.5 million VND increase from last year.

The most common tuition fee is 15.2 million VND, found at institutions like the Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Arts, the Vietnam University of Fine Arts, and the Vietnam National Academy of Music.

Dr. Pham Dinh Khue, Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department at Hanoi Architectural University, stated that the university offers 29 scholarships for students with high entrance exam scores. Students with good academic performance and conduct will also receive merit-based scholarships.

"Based on academic performance and conduct each semester, students are considered for scholarships sourced from 8% of tuition fees," Khue said. They can also receive scholarships from businesses, with the highest amount being approximately 12.9 million VND.

At Hue University's College of Arts, students who are children of war veterans or from poor households are eligible for tuition waivers or reductions.

University tuition fees are currently based on Government Decrees 81 (2021) and 97 (2023). For the 2025-2026 academic year, the tuition fee ceiling (the maximum amount that can be collected) at public universities that have not yet achieved regular expenditure self-sufficiency is 1.5 to 3.1 million VND per month, depending on the field of study.

Universities that have achieved regular expenditure self-sufficiency (autonomous) can charge up to 2.5 times the ceiling. For accredited programs, universities can determine their own tuition fees.
